We travelled to the Michigan show starting at 10:00 a.m.. We made our way eastward taking US 12 all the way. It
was a nice relaxing trip with only one minor glitch at the beginning. A new 12v coil solved the problem. We had a
nice dinner at a restaurant Ron Easton loves. It called the "Pickle Factory and it's located in Willis, MI just south
of Ypsilanti. Cathy couldn't wait for her order of deep fried pickle chips.  after dinner we stopped by the MVVC's
auction to see what goodies they had. The group (including myself) came home with some nice goodies.
We had rain overnight but the day started nice and sunny. Just a quick cleanup of the cars and we were over to the park in
no time. Ron and Don were there rather early to get the swap deals. I tried to take some pictures of various VW's that were
for sale to help anyone who may be looking. The show had a nice turnout of some great aircooled VW's. The swap area had
something to offer everyone. I came away with some nice NOS headlight glass for under $10.  The engine on the 67
convertible was interesting. I liked the 12v stamp to remind anyone servicing the engine of the transition from 6v to 12v.
We had 10 members in total for the trip. Everyone had a great time. We were able to park our aircooled VW's together. The
folks that drove regular cars with "Air Conditioning" had to park close by. Tom brought a tent for everyone to stay in the shade.

The Michigan Vintage Volkswagen Club did a great job with the event. The pass in reviews are fantastic and well attended.
Good job Michigan. The MVWg had a great time.

raining hard enough that Cathy couldn't get out and get a softserve. We stopped in Sturgis and solved that craving.

With gas prices in around $4.00 a gallon. I kept track of the mileage on this trip with my 65 Beetle. My average speed was
55-60 mph. The total trip mileage was 353 miles. I used 10.998 gallons of gas for a total cost of $44.55. The beetle for this
trip got 32.09 mpg. Not bad for a 43 year old vehicle.
I believe we would have had mpg if we didn't have to battle the headwinds most of the way home form the storm. We also
had some idling time due to road construction.
A quick little video I did with some of the
digital video and pictures I took this
weekend.
